Synopsis: Maharashtra state of India produces 5% of the world’s sugar for which one million sugar cane cutters toil to cut & provide the cane. The film takes viewers into the most backward regions of Maharashtra. Through personal stories of workers & interactions with activists, it throws light on the social hierarchical structure, class relations that make these people take up the tedious and dangerous job of came cutting. The film also exposes the failure of the law in providing these workers with basic minimum facilities due to which they live in stark poverty & hopelessness.
