Education on the Boat- Hope for Tomorrow

Synopsis: Nearly about 1600 square kilometers of North-Eastern region of Bangladesh are fully wetlands known as “Cholon Beel”. Boat is the only means of communication and fishing is their only source of income. Poverty is widespread. The children suffer the most with the limited access to education. In 2002 a non profitable private organization came forward with an amazing idea to educate the children of the impoverished are—by using the natural events of these regions “Water and the boat” Simultaneously to build up a scheme called “Education on the Boat”. Within four years it has significantly changed the total scenario of “Cholon Beel”.
