The aura of development

Synopsis: In the name of development, agricultural land was forcefully acquired, resulting in loss of livelihood for a significant number of the rural population in Nandigram and Singur (2006-07). This film attempts to put together opinions regarding the issues related to development as well as the idea of “Development” itself. It represents the voices of people directly affected by this process of industrialization as well as a section of the urban population apparently unaffected by it. In its journey the documentary cuts across various sectors of the society bringing up opinions of a majority excluded from the discursive domain of the popular media.
