Synopsis: In bonded labour system a worker casts his/her labour against an advance. Beyond extreme economic exploitation in the system, employer wields absolute physical and psychological control over the bonded labour sapping all humanity from the labourer. In 1976, Government of India came up with Bonded Labour System (Abolition) Act to declare the freedom of bonded labourer, a unique form of slavery. How this Act of 1976 translate into practice? Where and in what condition are the released bonded labourers and their families?
