Synopsis: Bansiola is journey with a flute vendor. He roams in the city space of Kolkatta with bundle of country flutes. He interacts with people of varying social and economic stratas. He shares music with his friend, a fruitseller, and other street-hawkers, shares life with a lonesome child. He bargains with housewives, teaches enthusiast teenager and he plays for anybody around with or without an ear for music. This film is an attempt to capture this moment of musical swings. Among these the director searches for a resonance. After a day-long wandering in urban space he returns to the greeneries- the landscapes. There he explores the fullest re sounding of his notes. Filmed in a non-narrative docu-fictional mode, Banshiwala depicts how people respond to music poured by an indigenous instrument while living amidst silicon entertainment.
