Synopsis: In 1960’s the decline in number of crocodile were marked and during the year 1964-69 a stiff decline was followed then finally in the year 1972 the species-crocodile was declared as endangered according to the Indian Wildlife Protection act 1972.

Crocodile farms were build in Orissa and Uttar Pradesh in the year 1975 for the captive breeding project. In 1976 Bhagabatpur crocodile farm was formed for the conservation of species in west Bengal.

Later in 1982 the first captive breeding started. At the first lot only ten eggs were hatched. Since then about three hundred seventy crocodiles have been reared in the center and released into the wild.

“Embryonic Journey” is a portrayal of the entire process of nesting, incubation, hatching and the life cycle of the estuarine crocodiles in captivity as well as in wilderness.

It will also potray the never ending effort of the human beings(Forest department workers) and the state government for the success of the project and the natural motive of common people sharing the same eco system with the magnificent reptile.
